The National Police College of Jamaica over the years has carefully examined the ever changing context of Police Service in order to strategically plan for relevant and cutting edge training. As the college sought to identify ways to improve the professional development needs of law enforcement officers, the thought of becoming a tertiary level institution was conceptualized. This came to fruition on 1st November (UCJ) as a tertiary level institution.

The National Police College of Jamaica is inviting applications from members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, district constables and civilians to pursue the following programmes:

  1. Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice

Qualifications for the Associate Degrees

Applicants must possess five (5) CSEC or GCEs or the equivalent including English and Mathematics
N.B. Adult Matriculation will be considered for applicants over age thirty (30).

Application forms may be collected at the Department of Academic Studies at a cost of one thousand dollars ($1000.00) or can be downloaded below
Application for the Associate’s programmes closes on April 30 of each year.

Required Documentation

The original and one (1) certified copy of the following documents must be submitted with each application:

  • Birth Certificate and valid identification
  • Tax Registration Number (TRN)
  • Academic certificates/grade slips
  • Professional certificates/diplomas (where applicable)
  • Marriage Certificate/Deed Poll if present name is different from that on Birth Certificate
  • Two (2) passport sized photographs
